My 5 Biggest Pilates Secrets Revealed

I hear, “Do you really do it every day?”  And “What motivates you when you’re tired, Andrea?” Clients ask me Pilates questions like this all the time. So, here are a few answers and a few other secrets.

  1. Yes, I’m an instructor but sometimes I don’t want to do Pilates. It feels too hard. I’m tired. I feel like I may not have enough time. It’s a lunar eclipse. We can all be creative when inertia takes hold, can’t we? BUT I ALWAYS feel better after Pilates. This is what I remind myself of whenever I can’t get off the sofa.
  2. I am addicted to Pilates workshops. As a lifelong learner and Pilates nerd, I love to keep learning. For my own growth but also for you. I want to stay fresh in my practice and bring you new insights and new motivation. I want you to feel like you have the best Pilates instructor.
  3. Zoom is now my friend. I’ve been able to study directly under amazing master teachers during our collective pause. One teacher even studied with Joseph himself. I was able to do this without traveling across the country thanks to new technology we all collectively sorted out during Covid. And Zoom workouts with my clients have been more effective and more fun than I thought they could be.
  4. You motivate me. As I work through exercises beginner, intermediate or advanced, they feel different every time. I feel connections and understand what you are feeling at any level. Seeing you grow stronger every day gets me excited. While I’m teaching, I want to do what you’re doing because you look so amazing. At the end of the day, I’m looking forward to doing Pilates myself. I can’t get enough. Pilates all day, every day! Inspire!
  5. Sometimes I do mini Pilates. That’s 3 workouts throughout the day. Because some days, I just don’t have a block of time for a full workout. No problem. I schedule 2 to 3 mini Pilates sessions for myself instead. It all gets done and it feels great! The important thing is to move and not be limited by perceived obstacles.
